I'm ready to embrace this new season, but not before saying goodbye to a fabulous summer. This was our first summer in our new home, in a new city. And our first summer with a toddler who really reminds you to slow down and live life to the fullest. If you ever want to experience what it means to love life with no concerns, spend a day with a toddler. They find the joy in everything and make even the smallest things and little outings so much fun.
Here's a look back at how we spent our summer, according to Instagram.
hiking the local trails//gardening, pants optional//smoothies on the back steps with nanny
evening bike rides//c-train rides//colour me rad run with blogging friends
sprinkler fun with cousins//first time at a petting zoo//family walks
hiking bragg creek//heritage park//calgary stampede
biking the glenmore reservoir//more hiking//visiting gramma in edmonton
exploring imagination grove//training for a spartan race//lots of library visits
splash pad days//taste of calgary beer gardens//spartan sprint race
zoo days with aunty//ice cream trips//morning walks in the neighbourhood
celebrating birthdays//5k races//head-smashed-in buffalo jump
If you're not already, we'd love for you to follow along on Instagram
as we continue our adventures into fall!
What was the highlight of your summer?
You've had a great summer! I hope we can see you guys again this fall, before snow makes travelling more difficult.
ReplyDeleteI love your IG page. You capture beautiful photos and have created a beautiful 'look' to your page. I envy it a lot since mine is pretty all over the place.
Yes, I hope so too! Although, I'm sure I'll be passing through on my way to Edmonton even in the snow :(
DeleteAnd thank you so much, that means a lot to me :) xo
all the photos compiled together makes it look like you guys were BUSY!!! (thank goodness for tons of good weather!) Highlight for me was spending time with the baby and NOT WORKING!!! ahah
ReplyDeleteHaha, it does, doesn't it?! I always feel like the summer was a waste if we didn't travel anywhere, but that's a crappy attitude, since clearly you can still have a good time when you just stay at home! :)
DeleteLooks like a great summer overall. It's fun to reflect through Instagram.
ReplyDeleteIt is! It's my favourite app in that regard for sure.
DeleteYour IG review is so beautiful! What a photogenic family ;)
ReplyDeleteI am going to miss summer, but that's because it snows almost 8 months out of the year and that just makes me sad :( However, autumn means good fall flavors in food, beautiful landscapes, family gatherings, and of course, pretty scarves!
Aw, thank you! We get almost 8 months of cold and snow too, so I feel your pain. But I think it makes me appreciate the warmer months that much more!
DeleteThank you! I haven't actually compiled them into photo books yet, but that's always been my plan! I've been following Artifact Uprising practically since I joined IG and love their products, but I also like the look of Chatbooks…I'm torn! Have you used either? I also want to make actual photo books of more than just IG photo books but I'm worried I will never get around to that! I haven't even written in Sully's baby book yet, eek!
ReplyDeleteYou guys did so much and had a fabulous summer! I'm looking forward to next year when Amelia will know more of what's going on and will enjoy doing fun things. If only I was off next summer too!
ReplyDeleteYou'll just have to make the most of the weekends next summer! :) It's a completely different experience from a baby to a toddler, that's for sure!
DeleteI agree- it's great seeing how amused kids are by everything. You guys had some serious fun!
