At 32 weeks...
*Sleep is becoming more difficult. I've always been a back sleeper so having to sleep on my side is not fun and I find myself doing the half-side sleep - where my hips are twisted to the side, but my back is flat. Some nights I sleep great and wake feeling rested, while others are just a write-off and I pray for a do-over when my alarm goes off in the morning.
*Shortly after my last update, I started to get really bad SI joint pain in my right hip. I've been seeing a Chiropractor regularly who has been helping me work through the pain. I can't even put into words what this pain is like, but it is like nothing I have experienced before, and it often brings me to tears. This past week, my left hip has also started to hurt. Luckily, my Chiro clinic has an amazing massage therapist who is also helping me find some relief, even if it is short lived.
*Pregnancy hormones are in full swing. I hadn't, until this week, experienced any uncontrollable emotions or bouts of crying, but I guess it was only a matter of time! It is overwhelming to feel so out of control. Monday, I couldn't stop crying and yesterday, I burst into tears when a co-worker asked me how I was feeling.
*Eating: still loving cereal with milk and I often find myself hitting the McDonald's drive-thru for a fountain iced tea. I have to say, Christmas was an awesome time to be pregnant because I didn't feel guilty (not even for one second!) after every cookie, chocolate or treat I ate.
*Living in: leggings everyday, all day.
*Loving: sisters who paint your toe nails for you, naps with Saigon on the couch, planning the nursery, counting down the days until I'm done working and shopping for adorable little boys clothes.
Last Christmas we were in Florida with Jim's parents, but this year we were surrounded by my family. Both my brother and sister flew home for Christmas and I think this was the first Christmas in a few years that we have been altogether. It's the last time they will see me before baby comes!

I may be pregnant, but I can still have a blast playing games with good friends and staying up until midnight on New Years Eve! It was weird to constantly think this is the last Christmas, New Years Eve, etc, as just the two of us. 2014 is going to be an exciting year full of many firsts!

Omigoodness, I lived in leggings too! And wore my maternity leggings for far too long after Marko's arrival too :P
ReplyDeleteWe totally did the whole "last" thing too, but the "first"s are even more fun :)
Soooooooooooooo excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I honestly don't know what I would wear if it weren't for leggings!! I find all other maternity style pants so uncomfortable. I'm glad I'm pregnant in the cold winter months here, since leggings are pretty much a staple whether you're pregnant or not :)
DeleteYou look fantastic, Brie! :D Soon Baby Fraser will be here! I bet you and Jim are getting so excited, and I hope you share some pictures of the nursery with us, especially if you're enjoying getting it all ready so much!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you, and can't wait to meet Baby Fraser! :D
Aw, thanks Ambur! I will definitely be doing some nursery posts! We're still in the "planning" stages and haven't actually painted or anything yet, but soon!
DeleteBrie, you look gorgeous!! I can't believe your little one will be here so soon! Heck, I can't believe my little one is already here. :) I totally hear you on the sleep thing. I had to sleep with a pillow between my legs and a pillow under my belly ... sometimes a pillow under my back, too, since my hips would hurt so much from side sleeping. Good luck with your sleep!
ReplyDeleteYou have a planned section, right? Must be pretty early since you're saying you'll be holding your little one in a month! I'm so excited for you, still! Can't wait for our playdates. :)
Oh, Kristilyn, you are too kind! :) I can't believe he's going to be here so soon either! Technically, more than a month a way, but still next month nonetheless! Unless of course he does decide to come early! There are no plans to deliver him early though, but you never know what could happen...
DeleteI feel like an old grandma some nights when I'm turning over from side to side - the pain in my hips! The worst is when we've stayed over night somewhere that has a hard bed. Luckily, our bed here is like a big pillow, but still, I hate side sleeping! I have a snoogle, but sometimes it's more annoying than anything. Oh well, I keep telling myself none of it will matter once baby is here! :)
I'm so excited for you Brie! You are almost there!
ReplyDeleteAt 32 weeks, there are lots of things going on with you. Sad to know that some of it is pain. Thankfully, you have a massage therapist and chiro to help you ease the pain you’re feeling. Anyhow, 2014 is bound to be really exciting for you. I hope you’ll have a safe delivery.

Being pregnant is the most wonderful experience that a woman can have in her lifetime. It may cause you a lot of pain, but thanks to your chiropractor and family who support you all through your pregnancy, everything ended up quite well. I hope you're fully recovered by now and enjoying your little bundle of joy.
